my history with Sothys Malaysia
I met Sothys Malaysia 6 years ago in 1Utama, it was this Parisian facial salon next to MPH bookstore called the 128 Faubourg, salon by Sothys. Little did I know that was their 3rd signature salon in Malaysia after Mont Kiara and Bangsar. I still remember the days where I peered into their window admiring the luxurious looking salon. Their facial promotions are always displayed at the entrance window, so I never missed the chance to study the interesting facials them have on promotion. The salon is also like a day spa where body treatments such as body wraps, massages, scrub can be enjoyed at the mall (especially during lunch time, if you're not hungry).

Then one fine day I decided to try their limited edition Rhubarb & Raspberry facial promotion. The facial uses active ingredients from rhubarb and raspberries to hydrate, nourished, and energized my skin. I enjoyed the relaxing fruity facial along with a relaxing massage, leaving me sleeping like a baby. When the facial was over, I was served with Raspberry tea! Talk about the whole experience.

I find thateasy to describe a salon's concept that way. For Sothys, it was plant and fruit based ingredients and they don't use machines, it's all fully hands on using a facial massage method called the digi-esthetique.

Here's a fun fact about Sothys! The name Sothys is actually the name of ancient Egyptians gave to the brightest star in the sky; she was perceived by the inhabitants of the land of Pharaohs as the jewel amongst jewels. Her brightness and her beauty fascinated men. During a heavenly night, Saturn met the young star Sothys; even Venus never seemed so beautiful. Their meeting was astonishing and Saturn was overwhelmed with passion for her; this threw the regular rhythm of the stars into confusion. Venus could not bear the fact she was not anymore the most beautiful star in the sky. She took her revenge and Sothys fell into the dark of the night and disappeared. Saturn cried over forty days and forty nights and flooded the Earth. During centuries, the world heard nothing about Sothys until the day when Sothys reappeared to deliver her secret to the Earth : she dedicated herself to women in order to preserve their beauty and happiness. As a tribute, Men venerated her as a Goddess.

While I have my facial treatments elsewhere now, Sothys is still one of my favorites to go. When friends asked for facial recommendation I would list out Sothys if they are looking for facial treatments with massages in a luxurious setting using plant or fruit based ingredients. After 6 years, I am happy to see that Sothys has grown bigger, better and more focus as a premium and prestigious salon in Malaysia catering to the many needs of women looking for a more holistic approach to facials.
the only luxury men's salon I known so far
A recent recommendation I gave to my future cousin-in-law Nicholas from Canada (he's back here for visits) when he asked me where to go for facials (metrosexual man!). I tagged him to Sothys Malaysia Facebook where he could enjoy facials from 128 Faubourg For Him. A Sothys men only exclusive salon at Bangsar Village 2, Bangsar or Empire Shopping Gallery, Subang Jaya. It's very much more masculine like interior compared. Great seeing Sothys catering to the growing number of men who wants to look good too.
